It’s generally not recommended. A1 provides a solid foundation in basic grammar and vocabulary that will be helpful for A2.

  • German grammar, including cases and verb conjugations, can be complex.
  • Vocabulary is still limited, so expressing yourself in detail might be difficult.

The next level is B1, which is considered lower intermediate. At this level, you can have conversations on a wider range of topics and understand more complex texts.

You can understand and participate in basic conversations on familiar topics.
You can ask and answer simple questions about yourself, your surroundings, and your everyday life.

There’s no strict number, but aim for around 1,500-2,000 words. Focus on high-frequency words you’ll use in everyday situations.
